Jason Charles Beck, professionally known as Chilly Gonzales (born 20 March 1972), is a Grammy-winning Canadian musician. Currently based in Cologne, Germany, he previously lived for several years in Paris. Known for his albums of classical piano compositions with a pop music sensibility, Solo Piano I and Solo Piano II, as well as his MC and electro albums, he is also a producer and songwriter.
Chilly Gonzales, Grammy-winning Canadian pianist and entertainer currently living in Europe, is known as much for the intimate piano touch of best-selling albums Solo Piano and Solo Piano II as for his showmanship and composition for award-winning stars.
In December 2011, Chilly Gonzales moved his piano into Paris Studio Pigalle. There, alone for 10 days, he recorded a handful of songs that had made the short list from a hundred or so melodies written over the eight years that had passed since the release of the now iconic Solo Piano.
Solo Piano II is an album by Chilly Gonzales which was released on August 27, 2012. The album features 14 original compositions for piano written and performed by Chilly Gonzales. The album was named a longlisted nominee for the 2013 Polaris Music Prize on June 13, 2013.
