For five years, I’ve been identifying Donald Trump, now president of the United States, as a nutter. I’ve called him crazy, daft, a madman, barking mad and mad as a March hare, and I’ve “diagnosed” him — I’m not a mental-health professional and have never examined the president — with narcissistic personality disorder and more.
No, I don’t think Donald Trump is mad. I have known him since about 1970 and have worked with him in the past. Donald Trump is just Donald Trump. He is an arrogant, self-centered business executive.
So, President Trump is not mad and bad, just bad. We should move on from looking for a mental health diagnosis to explain why President Trump is the person he is, and just recognize how frequently bad people occupy positions of power in many countries.
